W.E Irish hosting multiple exciting cultural events this month

Posted on: 23 Nov 2023

W.E Irish, a.k.a West of England Irish, are a community group representing those in the West of England of the Irish diaspora and heritage – and celebrating their culture.

As of this month, W.E Irish are hosting a pair of friendly, open events for all those who want to get involved with the Irish community.

First up, today, November 23, W.E Irish will be hosting a Gaelige language meetup at Watershed. The event is a friendly and relaxed one, and open for all abilities – all are welcome! So, whether you need to improve your Gaelige speaking, or just keep those skills in practice, this is a great group to start getting involved in.

As a reminder, the group meets tonight, November 23, and starts at 19:30. Head to the Watershed Cafe Bar to get involved if you’re interested.

Secondly, the much-celebrated W.E Irish Pub Quiz will return once again this month! Hosted by Old Market’s Coach & Horses (a beloved Irish pub for those in the know), this is a classic, good old-fashioned pub quiz.

As well as the usual trivia thrills, the W.E Irish Pub Quiz boasts a prize for the winner – with a separate raffle on top. The quiz is also known for it’s friendly atmosphere, fun questions, and particularly well-regarded and inventive picture round.

As if that wasn’t enough: local Irish & Country Singer, and contestant on The Voice, Shannon Kitchen will be performing for an hour after the quiz, delivering her signature melodic harmonies.

With tickets for the quiz just £2.50pp, you’d be a fool not to take advantage of the opportunity and get involved.

If you have an event you’d like to promote with W.E Irish, or are just looking to get more involved in the local Irish community, email them at emailingadmin@weirish.org.uk, or for more information on any of their upcoming events, head to their Facebook, Instagram, or website.
