This special Rough Trade outstore performance will see a UK rock heavyweight at the height of their powers descend on Bristol. Formed by drummer Ben Thatcher and bassist and vocalist Mike Kerr back in 2013, the duo have gone from strength to strength ever since.

The Brighton natives quickly won the hearts of the UK rock scene with an endearing blend of blues-rock – reminiscent of the White Stripes – and distorted bass riffs. Despite their heavy, ferocious sound, Royal Blood have found a home in mainstream indie.

Indeed, the duo’s eponymously titled debut album went on to be nominated for the 2014 Mercury Prize as well as winning a Brit Award for Best British Group amongst a whole host of other accolades.

They have kept this astonishing momentum going with How Did We Get So Dark? in 2017 and Typhoons in 2021, with their new record, Back to the Water Below, set for release on Friday 1 September 2023 – just one day before the band’s intimate Bristol show!

Royal Blood will play both a matinee and a late show (SOLD OUT) at SWX on Saturday 2 September 2023 with tickets for the former going on sale at 11 AM on Friday 4 August. Secure yours before they’re gone HERE.

As ever, SWX have a busy live music programme planned between now and the end of the year with appearances from the likes of R&B heavyweight Jorja Smith, beloved Bristol art rockers Squid, shoegaze legends Slowdive and a whole lot more. A comprehensive list can be found on the venue website.
