Melvins Announce Bristol Dates on Summer 2025 UK/EU Tour
Posted on: 15 Jul 2025Veteran sludge-rock pioneers Melvins are set to bring their thunderous live show to Bristol this summer, as part of their newly announced "Stop Your Whining!" UK and European tour.
The tour — which pairs the cult US band with Californian alt-rockers Redd Kross — will kick off on Wednesday, 17 July 2025 at The Exchange, Bristol, marking the first of two stops in the city for the influential group.
Known for their genre-bending mix of doom, punk, and metal, the Melvins will also headline a set at the ArcTanGent Festival in Bristol on 14 August 2025. Both shows are expected to showcase material from their latest studio album, Thunderball, which was released in April this year to widespread acclaim.
Formed in 1983 and led by founding members Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover, the Melvins have long been celebrated for their crushing riffs and unorthodox live performances. This latest tour sees them perform in their much-loved dual-drummer formation, with Crover joined once again by Coady Willis, who returned to the fold in 2023 following Crover’s temporary absence for spinal surgery.
Also on board for the tour is bassist Steven McDonald, pulling double duty with support act Redd Kross. The two bands share a long-running history, with McDonald’s propulsive bass work a key feature of the Melvins’ recent recordings and live shows.
The “Stop Your Whining!” tour was officially announced in February 2025, with tickets for all dates selling fast. The setlists are expected to offer a career-spanning selection of fan favourites, deep cuts, and new material from Thunderball, a record praised by critics for its "gnarly, doomed-out riffing" and psychedelic undertones.
Fans can expect a typically intense and immersive performance from the band, whose uncompromising approach has earned them cult status over four decades in the underground music scene.
