Bristol City Football Club mid season report 2024/25
Posted on: 01 Jan 2025Bristol City sit in 10th position with 33 points in The Championship at the end of 2024, just 4 points from the play off positions, helped by two home wins on the bounce at the end of the year versus Luton Town (1-0) and Portsmouth (3-0).
** A 2-2 draw on New Years Day away v Plymouth Argyle add a point to Bristol City's points total, now 34, and they remain in 10th place.
Over the last 3 seasons they've been gradually improving their finishing position from 17th in 2021/22, 14th in 2022/23 and 11th in 2023/24. Perhaps this could be their year however play offs are probably the best they can achieve as they are already 16 points from the automatic promotion places. These look to be disputed by teams from the North with Leeds United up top followed by Sheffield United, Burnley and Sunderland.
22 league fixtures remain with 12 at home and also an FA Cup 3rd round home fixture on Saturday 11 January against Wolves who are in a relegation battle in The Premiership.
