A sensational line-up of speakers will take over Bristol Aquarium on Sunday 13 October. In his keynote speech, ‘Amazon, A Journey from The Andes to the Atlantic’, National Geographic photographer/marine biologist, Thomas P Peschak, will share his 396-day journey along the Amazon River and its tributaries across South America.

Also speaking will be world-renowned National Geographic photographer, filmmaker and author Charlie Hamilton James, sharing his latest project ‘End Times’ which looks at his evolution from photojournalism into an artistic exploration of global environmental collapse and how we consume information about nature.

The programme will also feature a series of 20-minute lightning talks by world-class nature photographers including ‘Two Worlds’ on the separate worlds of stills and film, ‘Under Our Feet’ about the smaller and unloved creatures so important to our wildplaces and plenty more.

This will be partnered with a large-scale photography exhibition of the speakers’ work, opening on Wednesday 2 October. Kathy Moran, Jury Chair for the Natural History Museum, London’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year and formerly National Geographic Deputy Director of Photography will produce and host the event and said:

“I’m honoured to be producing and hosting WildPhotos this year, particularly in this, the 60th anniversary of Wildlife Photographer of the Year and just ahead of the world-renowned Wildscreen Festival. I look forward to some lively discussions with some of the world’s most talented photographers working today.”

The WildPhotos exhibition will run on College Green from Wednesday 2 until Monday 21 October 2024 with an intriguing programme of speakers appearing at Bristol Aquarium on Sunday 13 October. Find out more here.
