Tim Peake joined the European Space Agency back in 2009, following a long career serving in the Army. He made history in 2015 as the first British astronaut to visit the International Space Station. After retiring in 2023, he took up a role as an ambassador for the ESA and UK Space Agency.

As one of only 610 people to have ever ventured outside the Earth’s orbit, nobody is more qualified than Peake to celebrate the historic achievements of space exploration. In ‘Astronauts: The Quest To Explore Space’, he will share stories collected from his fellow astronauts and look at the evolution of space travel.

While Peake recounts the history of astronauts, he’ll reveal the realities of spaceflight; from the humbling view of Earth, living in weightlessness, unique dangers and the unexpected moments of humour, to the gruelling years of training and psychological and physical pressures that an astronaut must undertake.

In addition to Bristol, Tim Peake’s ‘Astronauts: The Quest To Explore Space’ will appear at venues in Cornwall, Exeter, Birmingham, Bath, Brighton, Leicester, Nottingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, London, Norwich, Hull, York, Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cambridge, Portsmouth, Poole, Swansea and more.
