Stockport rockers Blossoms are bringing their latest album tours to Bristol

Over the last decade, the Brit Pop-inspired quintet have been at the pinnacle of the UK indie scene, enjoying widespread acclaim and selling out venues all over the country.

 

Blossoms will play O2 Academy Bristol on Wednesday 30 October 2024.

 

The boys are back with a brand-new album, Gary, produced by the band’s regular collaborator James Skelly of The Coral, alongside Jungle’s Josh-Lloyd Watson, and country pop star CMAT has even lent her talent for songwriting to two album tracks.

Formed in their hometown of Stockport by school friends Tom Ogden (vocals, guitar) and Joe Donovan (drums) in the 2010s, the band later incorporated Josh Dewhurst (guitar), Charlie Salt (bass) and Myles Kellock (keys). They quickly attracted a cult following thanks to their blend of Brit Pop and the swagger of early Arctic Monkeys.

 

The band soon graduated from local club and festival stages following their eagerly anticipated self-titled breakthrough debut in 2016. The chart-topping, synth-laden record featured cuts such as the hit single ‘Charlemagne’. They followed this up with 2018’s Cool Like You, another UK chart and live circuit success.

 

By the end of the 2010s, Blossoms were selling out shows all over the UK, including a massive homecoming at Stockport County’s Edgeley Park. In the 2020s, they have released two further albums and, in 2021, teamed up with Rick Astley for a run of shows covering the songs of The Smiths– culminating in a set at Glastonbury in 2023.

 

In addition to Bristol, Blossoms’s upcoming tour will see them play shows in Manchester, Newcastle, Leeds, Glasgow, Sheffield, Hull, Nottingham, Liverpool, Halifax, Stoke, Lincoln, Birmingham, London, Norwich, Brighton, Portsmouth, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Belfast and Dublin.
