Harbour Festival opens the floodgates with even more announcements
Posted on: 20 Jun 2024The iconic Bristol Harbour Festival is nearly with us once more, and they’ve continued the flood of exciting announcements with another brand new stage this year.
The team behind the Bristol Harbour Festival are clearly flying their flag for fun this year, having already announced plenty of exciting news for the festival: including the return of festival favourites like the Cardboard Boat Race (and new watery stablemate, the Dragon Boat Race), as well as stages like the well-loved Dance Tent on Queen Square, and all of the usual big stages, with serious names like Laid Blak, Gabriel Templar, and GROVE.
On top of the return of old favourites, the Harbour Festival are really pushing the boat out this year with a whole armada of new announcements, stages, zones and acts. From the brand new Bristol Rising Stage – which will see a tidal wave of hot new Bristol talent from Access Creative College, dBs Institute, and beyond take to the stage - to the whole new Fringe Festival, which sees the programme extend far beyond the harbourside.
As if that wasn’t enough, the team have gone full steam ahead with even more new announcements, including a new stage, and a VIP experience. The new performance area, referred to as the Expression Stage, will be gracing Millenium Square this year with an eclectic programme. The Expression Stage promises talks, panels & discussions with experts from Bristol Beacon, Saffron Records, and Ujima Radio each leading insightful discussions on the music industry today, poetry, spoken word and even a silent disco from Disco Neurotico.

For those with young shipmates, you’ll be glad to hear they’ve also announced the return of the Family Playground; including performances from Cirque Bijou, craft workshops, yoga for 5-11 year olds, improvised storytelling, and the Travelling Library for a more relaxed experience.
Bristol Harbour Festival is on this July, from Friday 19 July to Sunday 21 July. For more info and to see the full programme, head to their website.
