Multi BRIT award winning band to drop by Bristol in December

Posted on: 07 Jun 2024

Scottish quartet Travis emerged as a true driving force in British rock back in the 90s, now they’re back to celebrate the release of a brand-new album!

Travis will play Bristol Beacon’s Beacon Hall on Sunday 15 December 2024.

Fresh from releasing a new single ‘Bus’, taken from their eagerly anticipated tenth studio album LA Times, the legendary rock outfit have announced their first UK headline tour since 2022. The single follows previous cut ‘Raze The Bar’, which saw Travis joined by friends Chris Martin (Coldplay) and Brandon Flowers (The Killers).

General sale tickets for this show go live at 9 AM on Friday 14 June.

Frontman Fran Healy considers Travis’ inception, imagining a bay of little sailboats “with all the bands and artists sitting in them, waiting on that freak gust of wind to blow them to fame and fortune.” For Travis, it yielded a run of modern classics including ‘Sing’, ‘Why Does It Always Rain On Me?’, ‘Driftwood’, and lifted them to the pinnacle of rock.

At various points along their journey, Travis has sold millions of albums (The Man Who is 9x Platinum certified in the UK), secured multiple BRIT awards, Ivor Novello and Q Awards, and recognition from such legends as Paul McCartney, Elton John and Graham Nash.

It is to their credit that Travis is made up of the same four magicians - Healy (vocals, guitar), Andy Dunlop (guitar), Dougie Payne (bass) and Neil Primrose (drums) - who first rose in 1996 with their debut EP, All I Want To Do Is Rock. On new album, LA Times, we are treated to Healy’s most personal songwriting since The Man Who.

In addition to Bristol, Travis’ 2024 UK tour will see them visit venues in Preston, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Wolverhampton, Nottingham, Margate, London, Eastbourne, Sheffield, Newcastle and Glasgow. Support comes from Hamish Hawk.
