There’s only a couple of weeks left to witness 100 stunning photographs showcasing the extraordinary diversity of the natural world and the fragility of wildlife on our planet.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2023 is showing at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery until Sunday 21 April 2024.

The museum is even running a special late opening viewing on Thursday 18 April, allowing visitors to explore the exhibition after-hours, with a free glass of prosecco or a soft drink on arrival. The bar will be open until 8 PM and the museum closes at 8.30 – you’ll also get 10% off in the gallery shop.

Tickets for the exhibition can be booked, HERE.

This exhibition showcases works from the 59th Wildlife Photographer of the Year, allowing fans of the natural world to experience incredible images alongside the museum’s fascinating natural science collection.

Visitors will be able to browse the 100 winning images chosen from 49,957 entries into the competition by photographers and experience levels from as many as 95. The exhibition also features soundscapes, videos, and insights, all capturing animal behaviour, species, and the breathtaking diversity of the natural world.

The exhibition includes the 2023 Grand Title-winning photograph; taken by second-time winner Laurent Ballesta, this is an otherworldly photograph of a golden horseshoe grab in the protected waters around the Pangatalan in the Philippines – the image can be viewed below.

Wildlife Photographer of the year was established in 1965 and is a globally renowned photography competition that highlights worldwide talent. With entries from all over the world, winning images are picked for their creativity, originality and technical excellence by a panel of international experts.
