The alt-rock band performing entirely free record shop shows

The Lonely Together are an award-nominated alternative rock band hailing from Scotland, helmed by Mike Baillie. Rooted in alluring melancholy and an abundance of hope, Baillie’s music showcases his distinct voice, earnest songwriting, and deft, heartfelt guitar playing.

Over the last few years, Baillie has consistently published a steady flow of music oscillating from the tender solitude of ‘City Lights’ to the honest tribulation of ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Get’ and the comforting reassurance of ‘Talk About Anything.’

Now, Bailie is giving back to the fans, and the community – with an entirely free tour of UK and Ireland record shops.

At a time when cost of living is hitting music fans and venues alike, and when record shops are a rare and precious community resource, this tour is designed to inject some serious new life into fans and venues alike with Bailie’s distinctive melancholic alt-rock.

“As an independent musician feeling disillusioned with certain aspects of the modern industry, I am taking action with my own music, putting in the miles to hopefully engage with fans on our terms.” Bailie said.

“I feel we are often being forced the wrong way at the moment, focusing on the enormo-shows and turning our backs on the grass roots venues that give artists their start. So I’m going right to the beating heart of it - to the places I’ve always felt most comfortable and at home - the independent record stores of this country.”

What would a musical tour of the country be without the (let’s be honest) heart of UK music, Bristol? The Lonely Together will be visiting Bristol at Keynsham’s Longwell Records – a beloved staple of Bristol’s music community, only going to show Bailie & co.’s good taste.

The Lonely Together will be swinging by Bristol’s Longwell Records on Friday 5 April, and will be completely free! For more information, check out Longwell Records’ website here, or follow The Lonely Together here.
