Woodland of Wonder, a new FREE community art festival themed around nature, is coming to Broadmead West.

As a part of a continuing initiative of community events, the Broadmead BID have announced a brand new community arts festival – with sustainability at its heart.

Woodland of Wonder is a festival in partnership with The Methodist Church, John Wesley’s New Room, and Sparks Bristol – celebrating the natural world! The festival is taking place in Sparks Bristol and John Wesley’s New Room (right next to the Arcade Bristol).

Woodland of Wonder is focused on helping creativity to flourish and providing exhibitions and activities for all ages to enjoy. Kicking off after Easter and lasting two weeks, Woodland of Wonder will also run alongside a programme of events by the participating venues.

Week one will see photography walks (still free but requiring booking) on Wednesday 3 April, the recycled craft workshop ‘Junk Bugs’ on Thursday 4 April, plasticine modelling and seed bomb making on Friday 5 April, and performances by the ‘Treemendous’ stilt walkers on Saturday 6 April.

Week two sees more photography walks on Wednesday, crafts on Thursday and Friday, and performances by stilt walkers on Saturday. Both weeks will host an ongoing exhibition of relevant artwork in John Wesley’s New Room and Sparks throughout.

Other events running alongside Woodland of Wonder include OTTER Produces’ immersive experience at Sparks, OTTOPIA – a black-and-white striped family event featuring games, puzzles, quests and learning opportunities. Additionally, Sparks will be hosting Easter egg hunts and art-making from the 29th of March.

The New Room will also be hosting a Good Friday communion service on the 29th March from 13:00-13:30, which are all invited to join. Finally, Coal Kitchen are offering a ‘Kids Eat Free’ offer throughout the Easter holidays, available all morning until 12pm.
