Someone magical is returning to Bristol this year – direct from the West End!

The classic multi-award-winning musical Mary Poppins will soon be heading to theatre venues up and down the country as part of a massive tour of the UK and Ireland.

 

Mary Poppins will run at The Bristol Hippodrome from Monday 4 until Saturday 30 November 2024.

 

Twenty years on from the world premiere in Bristol and after various record-breaking productions around the world, this beloved stage show based on the classic Disney flick will star acclaimed Australian favourites Stefanie Jones as Mary Poppins and Jack Chambers.

Based on the stories of P.L. Travers and the much-loved Walt Disney movie, Mary Poppins tells the tale of the world’s favourite nanny, whose arrival on Cherry Tree Lane is more magical than ever before with dazzling choreography, mind-blowing effects and truly unforgettable songs.

 

Reprising their roles as Mary Poppins and Bert will be Australian stars Stefanie Jones and Jack Chambers, who both received widespread acclaim and standing ovations for their performances in the recent Australian production. Further cast details will be announced in the coming months.

 

Stefanie Jones rose to fame as the leading lady in the Australian tour of Mary Poppins with other credits including Muriel’s Wedding The Musical and The Sound Of Music. Jack Chambers is a “triple threat” with a renowned reputation who won season one of So You Think You Can Dance Australia and has starred in numerous acclaimed productions.

 

Mary Poppins has original music and lyrics by Richard M. and Robert B. Sherman with new material written by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe. The book is by Julian Fellowes and the production is co-created by Cameron Mackintosh with co-direction and choreography by Matthew Bourne and direction by Richard Eyre.
