The ever-popular open-air music series is cranking up the volume next year with a roster of headliners including Welsh metal-fusion favourites, an energetic dub band, reggae-punk pioneers and 90s alt-pop icons.

Celebrating a decade of their popular open-air concert series, Lloyds Amphitheatre will be hosting headliners Skindred, Gentleman’s Dub Club, The Skints and The Breeders across three all-day events (Saturday 22, Sunday 23 and Sunday 30 June 2024) with more dates and acts yet to be announced.

Tickets for Bristol Sounds go for sale at 10 AM this Friday, 8 December 2023.

Bristol Sounds’ first event of 2024 will see their first-ever open-air rock event arrive at Bristol Harbourside. Headliners are Welsh ragga-metal heavyweights Skindred, who will be bringing their distinctive brand of reggae, rock and metal to the amphitheatre. Bristol rock fans will be treated to a live offering from their latest album, Smile as well as their slew of heavy hits.

Saturday 22 June will also see the re-energised Glastonbury rockers Reef, exciting break-out stars Kris Barras Band who release their new album Halo Effect next year, and ex-MMA fighter Kris Barras and his powerful backing band. With more acts still to be announced this looks set to be a special all-dayer.

Following that, on Sunday 23 June, let a little love in your heart for high-grade headliners Gentleman’s Dub Club who will be delivering their legendary live show that blends everything from reggae and ska to DnB. This all-day event will be co-headlined by the “Torchbearers of reggae music”, tireless live specialists, The Skints.

Sharing the Sunday stage will be five-piece electronic and dub band Dreadzone, bringing an old skool sound to the historic harbourside. Earlier, critically acclaimed singer-songwriter and Kiko Bun – an artist heavily influenced by Jamaican Roots, dub and rocksteady – will be taking through the stage. DJing on the main stage will be Bristol’s Count Skylarkin.

For the final of the newly announced events on Sunday 30 June, Bristol Sounds will be teaming up with fellow Bristol party planners Ritual Union for an all-day indie rock event. Headliners are hooky pop experimenters The Breeders, who shaped the early 90s alt-pop revolution with ‘Cannonball’ basslines and a punk rock attitude like no other.

They will be joined by psych/garage rock legend Ty Segall who has unleashed an acclaimed and prolific back catalogue since emerging from California in the late 2000s. Also lending their layered sounds and melodic epiphanies will be Bristol’s very own Squid, who are sure to bring an energetic performance. More acts will be announced shortly.
