Simple Things add more exciting names to eclectic tenth anniversary lineup

Returning for the first time since 2019 in February, the forward-thinking multi-venue festival looks set to be a special occasion on Bristol’s cultural calendar with a wide range of exciting acts.

 

Simple Things Festival runs between Friday 23 and Thursday 29 February 2024 with the primary night and day programme taking place on Saturday 24.

 

The festival have today confirmed the additions of secretive UK rapper CASISDEAD, experimental multi-instrumentalist L’Rain, genre-shifting techno act Space Afrika and more, complimenting what is already a formidable programme of contemporary music.

The full list of new addition also sees Deep Tan, Ziyad, Pregoblin, Canty, Sam Evian, Nina Cobham, Damnatio Memoriae, Fantastic Stranger, T.D, Group Listening, Cousin Kula, Fat Dog Rainy Muller, Gurriers, Lifter and more appear across some of the city’s top cultural hubs.

 

Bristol acts performing at the festival include innovative producer Silver Waves, maximalist pop outfit MP3 Chainsaw, hypnotic four-piece Quade, post-rockers Ex Agent, post-punk band Saloon Dion, hyper pop artist Tlya X An and alt-rock quartet Foot Foot. Bristol party crew Psychotherapy Sessions will also be taking over Bristol Beacon’s celler all day and night!

 

The first wave of acts featured high-profile names such as rock n roll favourites Warmduscher, BBC 6 Music darling Antony Szmierek, audio-visual pioneer Max Cooper, punk techno duo Giant Swan, New York indie rockers Les Savy Fav, South London multi-instrumentalist Wu-Lu and many more.

 

There will also be various programming around the festival, culminating in a special standalone Bristol Beacon show from idiosyncratic synthpop act Fever Ray, the moniker of former The Knife member Karin Dreijer on Thursday 29 February 2024.

 

Simple Things 2024 will be ran across multiple Bristol Beacon stages, Rough Trade, Strange Brew, SWX and The Sportsman across the day and Lakota & Coroners Court and Strange Brew at night. On the Saturday, the day programme will run between 2 PM and 1 AM with the night programme beginning at 10 PM and ending as late as 8 AM!
