Tickets are running low for Stewart Lee’s Bristol Beacon showPosted on: 17 Nov 2023
One of the UK’s most influential comedians, Stewart Lee, is returning to Bristol next year following a sell-out appearance at The Bristol Hippodrome in 2022.
Stewart Lee will perform his ‘Basic Lee’ show at Bristol Beacon’s Beacon Hall on Saturday 2 March 2024.
Tickets are down to limited availability for ‘Basic Lee’; one man, one microphone and one microphone in the wings in case the one onstage breaks. Stewart Lee is going back to basics, entering the post-pandemic era in streamlined solo stand-up mode.

Known for his distinctive blend of repetition, deadpan delivery and breaking of the fourth wall, Stewart Lee is one of the UK’s most distinguished stand-up comics. Lee cut his teeth in comedy in the late 80s as one half of the comedy duo Lee and Herring with fellow comedian Richard Herring.
The pair rose from writing material for Chris Morris’ On The Hour and The Day Today radio programmes to becoming UK television favourites. In 2001, Lee co-wrote and directed the hit West End musical, Jerry Springer: The Opera. This acclaimed yet controversial show took on issues around Christianity using extensive profanity and surrealism.
Lee has since established himself as one of the UK’s leading funny men, something of a comedians’ comedian. On top of his award-winning TV work such as Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle, he has created various seminal stand-up shows and written extensively in the UK press.
Now, after more than a decade of ground-breaking, high-concept shows featuring overarched interlinked narratives, massive sets and massive comedy props, the ‘Basic Lee’ tour will see Lee take it back to basics.
It’s not only Bristol Stewart Lee will be performing his ‘Basic Lee’ show, the comedian will also appear at venues in London, Bath, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Liverpool, Leeds, Newcastle, Leicester, Coventry, Reading, Plymouth, Oxford, Nottingham, Sheffield, Glasgow, Portsmouth, Norwich, Exeter, Bradford among others.
