Wake The Tiger is expanding early next year

Wake The Tiger, Bristol’s self-styled ‘Amazement Park’, is set to open a new expansion early next year.

Wake The Tiger is an immersive art/theatre experience based in St Phillips – self-described as an “Amazement Park”, Wake The Tiger invites visitors to walk around and through the fantasy world of Meridia – an abandoned conclave of magical guilds fighting a climate crisis.

Since opening in 2022, Wake The Tiger has seen more than 250,000 visitors wander its immersive, interactive halls – and has played host to a number of late-night events, as well as a mushroomy mini-expansion that looked like a lot of fun, guys.

Now, Wake The Tiger have announced plans to create a whole new expansion to the park, which will open in early 2024. Always ones to take an opportunity to weave in easter eggs and storytelling, WTG have also suggested that visitors may see clues to the expansion starting to “seep through the walls” of the existing experience.

Speaking on the expansion, Creative Director and Co-Founder Luke Mitchell said: “Expect the most mind-blowing immersive art production imaginable, all laid out within a maze of exploration; a complete dazzling wonder of the senses – spanning creativity, discovery and playful magic, and still an adventure for all ages.”

Given statements Wake The Tiger made at its inception, it’s possible this new expansion may be more than an expansion to the narrative, as well – it could be a furthering of the overall narrative of the park, perhaps even giving answers to some of the questions that hang around Meridia.

Alongside the expansion announcement, Wake The Tiger have also announced annual memberships and gift vouchers for the experience – perfect timing with Christmas on the way. Annual memberships either come as off-peak (weekdays outside of school holidays) and anytime, with the latter being £58 for an adult, and the former being £38 – both good deals when you consider a one-off ticket is £19.50. The memberships also include a number of extras, such as a 10% off food and drink, and the chance to bring a friend for free on your birthday.

Finally, in line with their other seasonal celebrations, Wake The Tiger are also throwing a winter-themed 18+ night at the experience. “Moonfrost” will include DJs, performers, and ice-themed décor and costume. Find out more here.
