A family-friendly Halloween trail starts in Broadmead tomorrow

Posted on: 25 Oct 2023

A new family-friendly Halloween trail is running at the Arcade Bristol from the 26th to the 31st of October.

With the 31st of October quickly approaching, and the liminal barriers to other worlds getting thinner and thinner, spirits have begun leaking through to our world; and we all know that spirits favour historic sites… places like the Arcade Bristol.

The Arcade is a Grade II*-listed Georgian building that has a truly storied history, starting as far back as 1825 and surviving and rebuilding after the Bristol Blitz! So, with that history, it's no wonder that it's become a hotbed of spectral activity this Halloween.

Six spirits have appeared across The Arcade – and they have a message. That's why the Arcade has called YOU – the world's top ghost detective – to follow the clues, track down the ghosts, and decode their message before it's too late...

Spirit Sleuths is a family-friendly clue trail themed for Halloween – you can get your worksheet from the north end of the Arcade, and follow the clues to find the ghosts throughout, and find the word they spell – with sweets at the end as a reward for those who find the right word.

If you've got young ones this Halloween who are looking for some light & safe Halloween fun, this is the perfect activity to keep them occupied and in the spirit of the holiday. Plus, it’s great for developing critical thinking, literacy, and independence for children of all ages!

This year's "Spirit Sleuths" trail will run from the 26th to the 31st of October and will run through regular business hours – while you’re there, the Arcade has plenty of Halloween deals on, from Shakeaway’s Halloween special shakes (sour skittles and popping candy shake, anyone?) to new premium salon Milanese Hair’s ‘bewitching’ styling and colour discounts.

The Arcade Bristol sits between Broadmead and the Horsefair in BS1 – you can find more information about the Arcade and their Halloween trail on their website, or their Facebook.
