Tobacco Factory to host five festive shows this Christmas

The South Bristol theatre have a little something for everyone this winter, including an in-house production of a British classic, captivating puppetry and more.

 

Tobacco Factory Theatres are hosting five festive shows throughout December 2023 and January 2024.

 

With a glorious family re-imagining for Oliver Twist, a children’s production of The Selfish Giant from Tessa Bide Productions and Soap Soup Theatre, a hilarious and completely raucous show from The Sisters of Shesus named Christmas at Mum’s and an off-site immersive tour of South Bristol, Noel West, it’s time to get Christmassy with Tobacco Factory Theatres.

This year’s headline Christmas show is an in-house re-imagining of Oliver Twist, running from Friday 1 December to Sunday 21 January. Directed by new Artistic Director and written by Olivier Award winner Adam Peck, do not miss this 200-year-old tale told in a completely unique way. Grab your tickets here.

 

Next up is Christmas At Mum’s from Friday 8 until Saturday 30 December. Returning to the Factory, this time without Shesus in tow, The Sisters are inviting the people of Bristol for a riotous Christmas at mum’s – the festive season will never be the same again. Find tickets here.

The Tobacco Factory Christmas season continues on Tuesday 12 December with the Factory Singers Christmas Extravaganza. Join the Factory singers in the warmth for a real winter singalong with a twist, expect hits from Justin Timberlake, Nina Simone and Florence & The Machine. Between Sunday 14 and Thursday 18 December, the Factory and Lights! Lights! Lights! are running an immersive theatrical experience like no other. Join Knowle West artists Meg and Claud for a whistle top tour of South Bristol’s festive secrets – expect singing, dancing and surprises a plenty. Tickets are available here.

Closing this year’s Christmas period is The Selfish Giant which runs between Sunday 14 December and Saturday 6 January. Inspired by Oscar Wilde’s heart-warming children’s tale The Selfish Giant, this show explores an unusual friendship and how even the grumpiest giant’s heart can melt. Purchase tickets here.
