Tickets are now on sale for the grand reopening of Bristol Beacon in November

Trip The Light Fantastic will celebrate the reopening of a space reborn with sound and light colliding to create a spectacular night like no other.

 

Bristol Beacon’s reopening night, dubbed Trip the Light Fantastic, is all set for Thursday 30 November 2023.

 

Previously known as the Colston Hall, the venue closed back in 2018 for an extensive refurbishment, announcing its long-awaited return in February. The Beacon’s opening night will see an exciting performance featuring the Paraorchestra with Surgeons Girl, Charles Hazlewood and Limbic Cinema.

Two Bristol natives, pioneering disabled and non-disabled ensemble Paraorchestra and celebrated electronic composer Surgeons Girl, have been commissioned by Bristol Beacon to create an electro-orchestral spectacle, alongside a dynamic visual response from audio visual experts Limbic Cinema for this landmark opening night.

 

This unique concert experience will be opened by a brand-new commission from Paraorchestra composer Xia Leon Sloane, Prelude to a Beginning, a sensual and spatial piece which will display to the audience the full extent of Bristol Beacon’s new astonishing natural acoustics.

 

Bristol Beacon have announced a stunning reopening programme with a diverse lineup of events taking place from November and into to 2024. Comedy fans will be treated to side splitting sets from the likes of Ricky Gervais, Jon Richardson, Daniel Sloss, Tom Allen, Stewart Lee, Romesh Ranganathan, Sarah Millican and more.

 

The reopening season’s eclectic musical programme features shows from Ocean Colour Scene, Billy Brag, Jools Holland, Annie Mac, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Richard Dawson, The Darkness, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Lankum, This Is The Kit, Roisin Murphy, James Blunt, Jethro Tull and many, many more.
