Hippodrome hints at a huge star for Peter Pan

The Hippodrome production of Peter Pan is set to grace the stage this December - and they've just hinted at a massive star joining the cast.

The Hippodrome Christmas show is always an eagerly-anticipated event in the Bristol December calendar - and this year is no exception. This year, audience are set to be treated to The Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan: a high-flying panto based on the classic story of Peter Pan facing off against the villainous Captain Hook - and what a Hook it will be.

Today, Hippodrome have announced the big name that's going to be the driving force behind the iconic villain  - and it's certainly a hell of a name. This year's panto will see Peter Pan being menaced than none other than Detective Hercule Poirot himself - award-winning actor David Suchet.

Suchet is best known - as mentioned - for his role as Hercule Poirot, Agatha Christie's famous Belgian detective best known for stories like Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile, but has starred in a number of big-name productions throughout the years, including a role as Van Helsing in the BBC's Dracula, and even a cameo on Doctor Who.

Excitingly, this will be Suchet's first pantomime appearance - although not his first foray into theatre. Strangely, however, it won't be his first interaction with Peter Pan; in 2016, Suchet starred as the narrator in a one-off television special production of Peter Pan Goes Wrong - a Peter Pan-themed production of fourth-wall comedy stage sensation The Play That Goes Wrong.

So, if you're interested in seeing David Suchet star as the delightfully villanous Captain Hook this Christmas, you can get your tickets for Peter Pan at the Bristol Hippodrome here.
