Sustainable Fashion Week announces its return to Bristol this year

Strutting across the UK for two weeks this autumn, the UK’s original sustainable fashion celebration is back, with Bristol becoming its national headquarters.

 

Sustainable Fashion Week runs across the country from Monday 25 September to Sunday 8 October 2023.

 

The Bristol programme features a wide array of talks, workshops, clothes shops, a pop up market and more on Saturday 30 and Sunday 1 October, all with the aim of bringing the community together to take creative action and change the fashion system.

Celebrating everything preloved, second-hand, handed-down, reworked and reworn - the theme for this year’s festival is ‘The ReWear Revolution’, inviting fashionistas with a passion for the planet to get involved.

 

The event will feature 75 unique Community Programme activities, each tailor-made to support the ReWear Revolution. Prestigious organisations including the National Trust, BBC Studios, Salisbury Museum, The Fashion Museum and more will be getting involved, joining forces to tackle the overproduction and overconsumption of clothing. 

 

With an increasing awareness of what we wear, where it comes from and its social and environmental impact, there’s no surprise that Sustainable Fashion Week continues to grow. This year, two-day Hubs will be taking place in Plymouth, Manchester, Bradford, London, Cardiff, Frome, Brighton as well as its Bristol headquarters.

 

SFW’s flagship hub will be located in SPARKS, an exciting arts and sustainability space where Bristolians can shop, recycle and explore what a greener, fairer and creative future could look like.

 

The festival team worked with the SPARKS team to curate the project’s dynamic fashion department, and now they’re returning the favour by hosting this year’s Bristol Hub, gathering together Bristol’s sustainable fashionistas to share their knowledge and skills with talks, workshops, a pop-up market and much more.
