Prepare yourself for a breathtaking new production of an award-winning West End hit featuring all your favourite characters and songs from the classic DreamWorks movie.

 

Shrek The Musical will run at The Bristol Hippodrome from Tuesday 22 August until Sunday 27 August 2023.

 

This big, bright, musical adventure stars The Lion King’s Antony Lawrence as Shrek, Strictly Come Dancing’s Joanne Clifton as Fiona and Brandon Lee Sears as Donkey as well as a magical fairy tale cast!

Bason on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks sensation, producers Mark Goucher, Gavin Kalin and Matthew Gale are presenting this brand-new production for the first time with a massive tour of UK and Ireland.

 

Audiences are invited to join one of cinema’s most unlikely heroes and his noble steed Donkey on their epic quest through the world of fairy tales, crossing paths with the beloved Princess Fiona, villainous Lord Forquaad and many more along the way.

 

The first film was, astonishingly, released over 20 years ago with Shrek 2, Shrek The Third, Shrek The Halls and Shrek Forever After all hitting the big screen in the intervening years. Shrek The Musical first hit Broadway in 2008 and has been awarded 8 Tony and 4 Olivier nominations since then, with one Tony win for Best Costume Design.

 

However, the wondrous world of the of the ogre and his allies has now been reimagined with a new creative team for the show’s upcoming UK and Ireland tour, alongside an iconic score featuring classics including ‘I’m a Believer’.

 

As well as The Bristol Hippodrome, Shrek The Musical’s tour of the UK and Ireland will drop by venues in Dublin, Aberdeen, Oxford, London, Northampton, Leicester, Bradford, Cardiff, York, Blackpool, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Coventry, Sunderland, Liverpool, Southampton, Milton Keynes, Hull, Cheltenham, Nottingham, Norwich, Belfast, Birmingham and more.
