Just one week today until the famous Bristol Balloon Fiesta returns to our skies

The city’s most iconic free event is back next week, soaring to new heights as people from all over the UK and beyond descend on the beautiful Ashton Court Estate over four days.

 

This year’s Bristol Balloon Fiesta will run at Ashton Court between Thursday 10 and Sunday 13 August 2023.

 

With the mass ascent moved to 6 PM on Thursday and a fun-packed family fun day planned for Friday, it’s a year of change for Fiesta organisers. However, what won’t be changing is the spectacle and the sky will once more be painted with up to 100 balloons as they gracefully float above our wonderful city.

Thursday’s mass ascent will be followed by an enchanting evening with the legendary nightglow, during which a selection of balloons will light up the magnificent surroundings to a specially picked soundtrack.

 

Friday 10 will see Ashton Court transformed into the ultimate family playground for the Family Fiesta Friday. From the early morning (6 AM) to the evening (6 PM) ascents, this is all set to be a busy day filled with family-friendly fun and plenty of entertainment for visitors of all ages.

 

There will also be a brilliant programme of live music at the Bandstand, curated by local label, Jelli Records. If you’re worried about keeping the kids entertained, then have no fear as the Brizzle Kicks area will have you covered with Party Peeps running a Foam Party amongst other exciting activities.

 

Those interested in finding out more about the world of hot air balloons will be able to meet the flight teams in the main arena – step inside an inflated balloon, stand in the basket and imagine you’re soaring above Bristol.

 

All this brilliant on the ground action hasn’t affected the quality of the aerial entertainment, however, keep an eye out for appearances from the famous Piggy Bank, Thomas The Tank Engine, Choc Dips, Snow White and many more in this balloon show like no other.

This year’s Bristol Balloon Fiesta will run at Ashton Court between Thursday 10 and Sunday 13 August 2023. To ensure a smooth experience, visitors should purchase their car parking and shuttle bus tickets from the Fiesta website.
