Following the immense success of last year’s events, Brunel’s SS Great Britain are doubling the amount of shows with even more exciting live music to experience at Bristol’s most unique locations.
Watch as the attraction’s dockyard comes to life with live bands, a summer BBQ, a range of local drinks and The Steamship cocktail – the SS Great Britain’s signature cocktail. The ‘Summer Lates’ series will also be partnering with Coffee Club Bristol, who have been serving Bristol’s alternative music needs since 2013.
This year will see sets from soulful alt-pop duo Iris Lyre on Thursday 15 June, folkcore gurus The Mighty Shinkickers on Thursday 22 June, Norwegian singer-songwriter Ålesund on Thursday 29 June, folk-pop outfit Sugarmoon on Thursday 6 July and neo-soul/hip-hop outfit Santa Fe on Thursday 13 July.
Designed by legendary Bristol engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the SS Great Britain was a passenger steam ship way ahead of its time that was in service between 1845 and 1886.
In 1970, the SS Great Britain Project brought the ship’s rusting shell home from the Falkland Island to save it from ruin and keep its history alive. The Victorian ship was lovingly restored and, today, it is known as Bristol’s number one visitor attraction and a leading research centre.
???? We've got an unbeatable lineup for our Summer Lates Series kicking off with Iris Lyre @CharlieAndJake2 (15 June) & The Mighty Shinkickers (22 June)...More artists to be announced very soon ????
