Extra Bristol date added to Jonathan Pie’s 2024 UK tour due to popular demand

Jonathan Pie: Hero or Villain? This is a question often asked and one that Tom Walker’s comedic vessel hopes to answer in his brand-new show.

 

Jonathan Pie’s ‘Heroes & Villains’ tour drops by Bristol Beacon on Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 February 2024.

 

Join the fictional news reporter as he celebrates some of the UK’s greatest heroes (nurses, Gary Lineker, 24-hour off-licence proprietors), takes a verbal blowtorch to our villains (the Tories, cyclists and more), and kicks in the establishment’s back door!

A certified internet sensation, Jonathan Pie is a character created by comedian and actor, Tom Walker. Known for his foul-mouthed, highly quotable outbursts, Pie is a parody journalist who rose to prominence in the mid-2010s thanks to videos, often filmed outside Westminster, bemoaning and dissecting current affairs.

 

Following the election of Jeremy Corbyn as Labour Party leader in 2015, his early videos reacted in anger to issues such as the mainstream media reports around Corbyn’s past relationship with Diane Abbott. 

 

However, it was his viral video on the election of Donald Trump as US President in 2016 that truly caught the attention of the worldwide media, becoming a trending video on YouTube – today, the video has 4.6 million views.

 

Since then, Pie has appeared on various satirical news programmes, featured on prestigious news websites such as The New York Times and embarked on multiple UK tours as well as continuing with his ever-popular videos. Now, the fictional news presenter is gearing up to tour his new show, ‘Heroes & Villains’.

 

As well as two dates in Bristol, ‘Heroes & Villains’ will be performed at venues in Liverpool, Oxford, Salford, Cambridge, Birmingham, Bournemouth, London, Hull, York, Newcastle, Coventry, Brighton, Cardiff, Portsmouth, Sheffield, Southampton, Glasgow, Northampton, Reading, Nottingham, Leicester, Bath, and more.
