A vessel for Dallas Green’s solo output, City and Colour emerged in the late 2000s. The project allowed the singer-songwriter to take a more introspective, acoustic approach to his craft, a far cry from his work as frontman of post-hardcore band Alexisonfire – a successful group which is still operating to this day.

City and Colour achieved instant success with a Juno Award win in 2007 for the project’s debut album, Sometimes. Following this widespread acclaim, Green focused all his attention on his solo project, releasing a string of chart-topping records that transcended the early, purely acoustic output.

2015’s If I Should Go Before You again received critical praise and was followed by a lengthy tour and a live album. City and Colour returned with 2019’s more ethereal effort Pill for Loneliness before Alexisonfire returned in 2022. This year, Green returned to his solo project to help process the tragic death of a close friend, releasing the emotional The Love Still Held Me Near back in March.

City and Colour will play in Bristol as part of a European tour that also sees the singer-songwriter visit UK venues in Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and London. Find out more on the artist’s website.
