A master of whimsy, James Acaster has received widespread acclaim worldwide, winning a record-breaking five consecutive nominations for ‘Best Comedy Show’ at the Edinburgh Fringe Festivals in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Back in 2017, he toured the UK with a staggering three shows (‘Recognise’, ‘Represent’ and ‘Reset’) which formed his four-part Netflix series, ‘Repertoire’. The first of its kind this was a stand-up mini-series with a connecting narrative – Acaster was the first UK comic to have more than one Netflix special.

In 2017, Acaster released his debut book Classic Scrapes which, along with his 2019 second effort Perfect Sound Whatever, made the Sunday Times bestseller list. Also in 2019, the comedian completed a critically acclaimed tour of ‘Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999’ in the UK, Australia and the US.

Acaster is also a hit in the world of podcasts. ‘Off Menu’ with Ed Gamble sees the two comedians invite celebrity guests into their magical restaurant to each choose their dream meal. In ‘James Acaster’s Perfect Sounds’, Acaster explores the best albums and singles of 2016 – the year he believes is the greatest year for music of all time.

In addition to Bristol Old Vic, James Acaster’s ‘hecklers welcome’ will run at venues in Cardiff, Kettering, Glasgow, Salford, Birmingham, Dublin, Brighton, Leeds and Belfast. Find out more here.
