Finally returning to the beautiful setting of Queen Square following two years of open-air shows on The Downs, the Big Top is set to be bursting with the best comedy around. The headline acts mentioned above will be joined by British Comedy Award winner Nina Conti and Qi’s Alan Davies.

There will also be high-profile appearances from much-loved cult comic/poet Tim Key, Scottish extraordinaire Fern Brady, musical wizard David O’Doherty, Queen of Bristol comedy Jayde Adams, Taskmaster star Phil Wang, Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Bridget Christie, the Mash Report’s Rachel Parris and The Last Leg’s Rosie Jones.

As always, Bristol Comedy Garden will also have a premier roster of up-and-coming talent with sets from the lauded Ania Magliano, Kyrah Gray, Daniel Foxx and Sharon Wanjohi to name but a few.

This five-night fiesta of funnies has been running since 2011 and is a real Bristol favourite that each year features a series of mixed bill shows showcasing the best names in the UK comedy circuit along with quality bars and the best local street food.

Co-founders Cass and Randolph are thrilled to see the Comedy Garden return to its true home: “We’re very grateful to have been able to transform the festival into the open-air shows on The Downs. But it all began for us in Queen Square and we’re beyond excited to be heading back again, it’s like a cathartic full circle following the challenging pandemic years.”

Will adds: “We also can’t wait to get back into the Big Top, the atmosphere for the shows is incomparable, and the acts we have this year will undoubtedly be raising the roof!”

Bristol Comedy Garden runs at Queen Square from Wednesday 14 to Sunday 18 June 2023. Tickets for these shows always fly out the door so be quick to grab yours HERE.
