A certified West End and Broadway phenomenon, Wicked will be returning to The Bristol Hippodrome in January 2024.

 

Wicked runs in Bristol from Thursday 23 January until Sunday 25 February 2024.

 

Described by BBC News as “one of the most successful musicals of all time”, the acclaimed production, now in its twentieth of breaking multiple records and wowing musical fanatics in the process, will be swooping down on Bristol’s biggest theatre once again next year.

 

Tickets are now on sale, with prices starting at £20.

Already the twelfth longest-running production in West End history, Wicked continues its seemingly never-ending run at Apollo Victoria Theatre in London.

 

Based on the novel by George Maguire, the immensely popular musical tells the incredible untold story of the Witches of Oz; reimagining the beloved characters of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and exploring the backstory of two unlikely friends – ‘Glinda The Good’ and the ‘Wicked Witch of the West’.

 

Wicked’s stunning soundtrack features popular songs including ‘Popular’, ‘Defying Gravity’ and ‘For Good’, all written by multi-Oscar and Grammy Award winner Stephen Schwartz, known for his work on Disney's Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Enchanted.

With a massive touring cast, orchestra, and crew of 82, this “blockbuster stage show” has previously run at The Bristol Hippodrome twice, selling out on both occasions and being seen by 140,000 people.

 

Over the years, Wicked has been seen by over 60 million people worldwide, performing in more than 130 cities in the process. The musical has also won over 100 major awards including 3 Tonys, 2 Olivier Awards and a Grammy.

 

The upcoming tour of the UK and Ireland is the production's third, opening in Edinburgh in December 2023 before travelling to Bristol, Birmingham, Bradford, Southampton, Liverpool, Dublin, Sunderland, Cardiff and Manchester before concluding back in London.

Wicked is set to run at The Bristol Hippodrome from Thursday 23 January until Sunday 25 February 2024 with tickets on sale now.
