With preparations for the Christmas period beginning, Bristolian eyes are starting to turn towards the city’s largest theatre and its upcoming pantomime – Cinderella.

Cinderella will run at Bristol Hippodrome from Friday 2 until Saturday 31 December.

This laugh-out-loud theatrical comedy will feature beautiful scenery, stunning consumes and a special appearance from long-running Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood – a panto villain who is sure to attract plenty of boos and hisses.

Following on from 2021’s production of Snow White, Bristol Hippodrome is tackling Cinderella this year. Theatre lovers of all ages will be able to join poor Cinders on her rags-to-riches story as she outwits her wicked sisters and meets the dashing Prince Charming along the way.

Horwood is the headline name of this year’s panto, taking the role of the Wicked Stepmother. He will be joined by Bristol’s favourite panto comic Andy Ford as Button, musical theatre mainstay Alison Jiear as the Fairy Godmother, Daniel Norford as Dandini and Lauren Hampton as Cinderella.

Horwood is known by millions all over the UK as the long-serving pantomime villain of the flagship BBC television show Strictly Come Dancing, an institution he has been involved with since its inception in 2004. His harsh put-downs and flamboyance have seen the now 57-year-old become a true household name.

However, Horwood is more than just a TV judge with experience as a professional ballroom dancer, choreographer, conductor, singer, drag queen, author, and theatre director.

His role as the Wicked Stepmother is by no means Horwood’s first musical theatre role; the former drag queen has played a plethora of infamous villains including the Queen in ‘Snow White’ and Captain Hook in ‘Peter Pan’ as well as directorial involvements in ‘Spend Spend Spend’ and ‘My One and Only’.

Cinderella will appear at Bristol Hippodrome from Friday 2 until Saturday 31 December with tickets starting at £13. Buy yours HERE.
