Seven Drunken Nights - The Story of the Dubliners is heading to Bristol Hippodrome in 2023 straight off the back of a successful West End run.

Seven Drunken Nights will be performed in Bristol for one night only on Tuesday 18 April 2023.

Having sold out venues all over the world, this folk-theatre extravaganza comes from a collaboration between Tourism Ireland and legendary Irish pub O’Donoghue’s - the result is a guaranteed evening of fine music, rip-roaring humour and good ‘craic’.

Founded in their native Dublin in 1962 as The Ronnie Drew Ballad Group, The Dubliners (as they became known) had an ever-shifting lineup throughout their half-decade-long career, always centred around singers Ronnie Drew and Luke Kelly. A regular in both the Dublin and London folk scene of the 1960s, they quickly drew widespread praise for their lively songs and traditional street ballads.

After early popular success through a slew of top-selling singles in the late 60s, the group retained a sustained level of popularity over the subsequent years until a succession of collaborations with The Pogues saw them enter the charts again on a further two occasions.

Walking the tightrope between theatre production and tribute act, Seven Drunken Nights tells the story of the renowned band whose career spanned 50 years, following Ronnie Drew, Luke Kelly, Barney McKenna, John Sheahan, Ciaran Bourke and Jim McCann, on their rise from the Dublin backstreets to international stardom.

The production's skilled cast of experienced musicians is sure to have the audience singing and dancing in the isles when they visit Bristol Hippodrome next year, with beautiful renditions of some of The Dubliners' most renowned songs - including 'Seven Drunken Nights', 'The Black Velvet Band' and 'The Irish Rover'.

Seven Drunken Nights will be performed in Bristol for one night only on Tuesday 18 April 2023, tickets can be found HERE.
