Artspace Openspace arrives at The Island this weekend
Posted on: 11 Oct 2022BS1 art space The Island will open to the public this weekend as it hosts the third instalment of Artspace Openspace.
Running from Friday 14 until Sunday 16 October, an array of events ranging from beginner dance classes to comedy performances and guided tours will take place at the city centre exhibition venue.

Artspace Lifespace – organisers of this weekend’s Artspace Openspace event - is a Registered Charity that recycles vacant, under-used and problem properties into thriving creative resources.
The Island, located in Bristol city centre, is an arts centre which has a unique venue situated in the basement and cells of a 1920s former police station.
On Friday 14 October, the venue will host a showcase exhibition from 14:00 until 19:30 before a night of comedy follows from 19:30 until 23:30 (booking recommended).
Saturday 15 October is set to be the busiest day of the weekend, with events beginning at 10:00 and running until 16:00. Activities available range from dance classes to guided tours and exhibitions.
The venue will then shift gears at 20:00 as a live art performance takes place. From 10:00 until 03:00, a host of funk, soul, afrobeat and jungle DJs will round out the day in style.
A shorter programme of dance classes, tours and exhibitions will take place on Sunday 16 October- Artspace Openspace’s final day.
