Wake The Tiger announce Halloween party event

Posted on: 07 Oct 2022

Bristol’s hottest new attraction, Wake The Tiger, is descending into delectable darkness this October, Friday the 28th.

Wake The Tiger, the “immersive experience” based in St.Phillip’s Marsh – from the team behind the massively popular festival Boomtown – is said to blur the lines between an interactive theatre and detailed film set, and opened last August to rave reviews and massive popular acclaim.

Now, Wake The Tiger are staying true to their stated aims of updating and changing the experience – keeping it alive – by repurposing their unique space to host a massive Halloween party at the start of the Halloween Weekend.

Wake The Tiger: Danse Macabre is a special 18+ night complete with live music and activities – all set against the immersive backdrop of the ‘curiously creative’ world of Meridia.

Guests are being invited to dress up in a post-apocalyptic theme for the event, playing into Halloween’s main tradition whilst enhancing the fully immersive feel of the event.

“Within the world of Meridia, guests will watch the old world slip away into shadow and dust, like a burning ship into the setting sun. From this precipice of change, they will glimpse the hope of a new day rising with the dawn” says Doug Fransisco, Artistic Director at Wake The Tiger.

The Danse Macabre is an artistic motif celebrating and examining the universality of death – and reminding us of its sudden, powerful appearance. For an experience all about striving against the destruction of the world on the brink, it’s an appropriate metaphor.

The event promises high energy live bands and DJs from 18:30 to 1am – alongside performers (such as, apparently, ‘sorcerers’ and ‘danseurs’) and games.

Tickets for Wake The Tiger: Danse Macabre are £35, and can be purchased via the Wake The Tiger website. The main experience has also been extended past it’s original expiration date, with bookings available until the end of the year here, and Christmas plans on the horizon.
