Posted on: 29 Jul 2022

Get active and raise money for a local wildlife group this autumn.

Avon Wildlife Trust is looking for people to venture out into nature this September, each traveling a total of 30 kilometers over 30 days to raise a minimum of £30.

Choose your preferred activity from walking, running, cycling, and swimming, and tackle this challenge in one go or over the course of a full month - the choice is yours!

Founded in 1980, AWT was Britain's first urban wildlife trust, focused on the people and wildlife habitats of Bristol, Bath, and other built-up areas across the region.

Part of a large network of environmental organisations, AWT is one of 46 Wildlife Trusts working across the UK to support nature through a community-based approach to conservation.

The organisation aims to improve the health of degraded ecosystems by giving more space to nature and empowering people to take action on behalf of nature by inspiring and resourcing them.

AWT is looking for people to complete 30 kilometers in nature this September, either walking, running, cycling or swimming solo or with friends and family to raise a minimum of £30.

The funds will contribute to the Trust's goal of restoring 30% of British marine and terrestrial area by 2030 - the percentage of protected area needed to halt biodiversity decline and address the climate crisis.
