The musical tells the well-known tale of Charlie Bucket, the young boy who out of the blue wins a golden ticket – giving him the opportunity to meet the mysterious confectionary wizard, Willy Wonka.

The weird and wonderful world of Wonka’s chocolate factory offers Charlie and a group of other children the chance to eat as much chocolate as possible, something that seems like the opportunity of a lifetime until they discover not everything is as sweet as it seems.

Featuring songs from the renowned 1971 film (pictured below) and based on the original Roald Dahl novel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – The Musical has a book by David Greig, music from Marc Shalman, lyrics by Mark Shalman and Scott Wittman.

As one of the most well-loved children’s stories of all time, this musical adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is sure to prove popular for kids and experienced theatregoers alike.

The announcement of a Bristol date comes with the addition of a whole host of new destinations for the 2023 production tour.
