Popular food and drink trade show to appear in Bristol for the first time this week

Posted on: 13 Jun 2022

Organisers are inviting exhibitors and visitors from the South West’s food and drink industry to come together at the BS3 venue.

Source Food & Drink Trade Show is leaving its Exeter home for the first time on Thursday, with Bristol’s Ashton Gate Stadium its destination and scores of food and drink industry representatives set to attend.

Organisers Hale Events have been at the forefront of the trade show industry for 25 years and have hosted a food and drink buyers event, The Source Trade Show, for ten.

Prospective visitors/trade buyers can register their interest in taking part here or get in touch with the hosts via email.

Based in Axbridge, Somerset, Hale Events have extensive experience running successful trade shows, however, the Bristol event on 16 June signals the first time that The Source Trade Show has forrayed away from Exeter.

Taking place once a year for a decade, the Exeter trade show (next taking place between 8 and 9 February 2023) has been the South West’s biggest trade show for the food and drink sector.

The event will showcase a diverse range of businesses from all areas of the industry. BARBI themselves will be in attendance hosting an open surgery for industry members to voice concerns and issues – pop along to stand A1 and say hello.

Well over 100 exhibitors are signed up already with artisan food and drink producers, hospitality and catering supplies, hospitality service providers, food service and food retail businesses all making an appearance.

On the announcement that The Source Trade Show is coming to BS3, John Sheaves (Taste of the West’s Chief Executive) has said:

“Taste of the West is absolutely delighted to support the new Source Roadshow in Bristol, being one of the key cities and therefore markets for high-quality food and drink in the South West.

“This is a truly exciting venture that takes quality, high integrity products right into the heart of Bristol where producers will be able to share their knowledge and expertise with buyers from the city, and for us having the same Source trade show skills and expertise behind the venture provides us with great confidence.”

Nick Rowland (Director Qtos Catering Equipment), too, has spoken extensively about the city’s need for a food and drink industry trade show:

“We’ve wanted a trade show for hospitality buyers in Bristol for years. We’re delighted Hale Events are launching one because we’ve always done great business at their shows.”

Finally, BARBI chairman, Andy Dodd added: “BARBI Bristol welcomes this new trade show to Bristol and looks forwards to working with the organisers to make it successful & fun for Bristol’s hospitality sector.”

Those wishing to attend The Source Trade Show on Thursday 16 June can register for free on the trade show website.

Information about exhibiting at the show is available from James Curtis or Paul Thomas on 01934 733433 or by email.
