Watershed’s annual film festival is back next month, and there's only one day left to purchase a pass at first-tier prices.

Cinema Rediscovered will showcase a diverse range of classic and contemporary films between Wednesday 20 and Sunday 24 July.

The sixth edition of the well-loved festival sees brand new restorations, contemporary classics and film print rarities from all over the world screened in and around Bristol as well as online.

Early Bird Passes are currently on sale at a reduced price, however, the offer runs out at midnight tomorrow (Tuesday 7 June) – head to the Watershed website to grab your ticket.

As well as organisers Watershed, Cinema Rediscovered will host screenings at a range of local cinemas, including Clevedon’s Curzon Cinema & Arts, 20th Century Flicks and Arnolfini, followed by a UK wide tour of highlights and an online offer from film streaming platform, MUBI.

This year’s festival will be kicked off by the UK premiere of a new restoration of David Lynch’s 1997 bizarre neo-noir Lost Highway (pictured below) and drawn to a close by another 4k restoration, this time of Kinuya Tanaka’s challenging and moving piece, Forever a Woman (1955).

There will also be a plethora of programmes curated by a host of prominent critics, filmmakers and archivists. Highlights include Karen Alexander’s 'Black Paris… Josephine and Beyond', Pamela Hutchinson and Christina Newland’s 'Pre-Code Hollywood: Rules Are Made to be Broken' and much more.

A comprehensive list of films can be found on the Watershed website.

Cinema Rediscovered Founder & Watershed Curator Mark Cosgrove said of the festival: "...it is exciting to be reminded of the shared social experience of cinema and of the shared collective history of film.

"This year’s edition brings those two together in a five-day binge viewing of the classic, the unknown, the risqué, the thoroughly entertaining and the shapeshifting weird and wonderful."

The Early Bird Passes allow film lovers to make the most of the festival at a reduced price - £85 for full, £65 for concessions and £50 for under 24s. When the deadline passes tomorrow (Tuesday 7 June), prices will increase to £100 for full, £80 for concessions and £60.

Early Bird pass holders will also have 24 hours priority booking before the full programme goes on general sale as well as a three-month trial and tote bag from MUBI.

Cinema Rediscovered runs from Wednesday 20 till Sunday 24 July. Head to the event page to purchase your early Early Bird Pass now.
