The Outlaws series two is landing this week

The celebrated comedy series, filmed entirely in Bristol, is making its long-awaited return to our screens.

A date has been confirmed for the nationwide premiere of The Outlaws season two, with the first episode set to air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Sunday 5 June.

Crowned the BBC's biggest comedy launch of 2021 notching over 11 million streams on iPlayer, the show's debut season was filmed on location across Bristol, with scenes shot in Clifton, Stokes Croft and Gloucester Road.

After receiving a rapturous reception across the Westcountry and beyond, it was confirmed back in November that filming for season two was already underway, once again taking place in Bristol.

Recently, the show's creator, Stephen Merchant, and a selection of cast and crew members arrived at the Watershed for an exclusive premiere, which also included a Q&A session after the screening of season two, episode one.

Centred around seven strangers forced to undertake community service, series two catches up with the group as they face the fallout from their actions in the first season, with time left to serve on their sentences.

Brushes with the criminal underworld and close shaves with the authorities become commonplace as The Outlaws are forced to depend on one another and work with unlikely allies to atone for their sins.

The show has retained its full cast from series one, including world-renowned actor Christopher Walken as elderly con Frank, and Merchant himself as hapless lawyer Greg.

The pair are joined by Rhianne Barreto (Rani), Gamba Cole (Christian), Darren Boyd (John Halloran), Eleanor Tomlinson (Lady Gabriella), Clare Perkins (Myrna) and Jessica Gunning (Diane), alongside a few new faces.

The Outlaws series two is set to arrive on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 21:00 on Sunday 5 June. Catch up on the full first season via BBC iPlayer.
