Love Saves The Day 2022: 5 DJ sets to watch out for

Posted on: 25 May 2022

One of Bristol's best-loved festivals returns in June with one of its most ambitious lineups to date...

We're just over a week away from the long-awaited tenth edition of Love Saves The Day, with the festival set to take over Ashton Court for the very first time on Thursday 2 & Friday 3 June.

Having started out in Castle Park before moving into Eastville Park and later hosting a one-off festival on The Downs, Love Saves The Day has found a new home in South Bristol and will, as always, be celebrating in the company of some of the UK's most in-demand artists.

Ahead of the festival's official launch, we've decided to put together two quick guides to five live and DJ sets you can not afford to miss at Love Saves The Day 2022.

Read on for our rundown of five of the biggest and best DJ sets on the way this year, and get your hands on last-minute tickets here.

Folamour: Power to the People A/V | Main Stage, Day 1

Parisian powerhouse Folamour is riding a huge wave of success right now, having brought his lively, disco-centric selections to some of the world's biggest clubs and festivals over the past 12 months.

A proud lover of leftfield, danceable grooves and no stranger to a hidden gem, Folamour is one of few globally-touring DJs capable of getting the entire dancefloor moving, everywhere he goes.

With an eagerly-anticipated third album on the way in June, Folamour's most daring project yet, 'Power to the People', seeks to bring audiences to a new dimension through a fully immersive and interactive audiovisual experience.

The infectious positivity of Love Saves The Day should provide the perfect backdrop for a maestro at the peak of his powers.

Concrete Jungyals | Shambarbers, Day 1

If you're looking for energy in a DJ set, look no further than Concrete Jungyals on the opening day of LSTD 2022.

Formed initially as a Facebook group for women, LGBTQ+ people and people of colour to share music, skills and ideas, Concrete Jungyals has developed into a bustling community of creatives and tastemakers, led by a three-person core team and a further four resident artists.

Over the past four years the collective has become a firm fixture on Bristol’s nightlife scene, hosting their own parties, taking over stages at some of the city’s best-loved venues and festivals, and collaborating with a number of established brands and promoters.

Today, Concrete Jungyals’ residents span drum & bass, jungle, dubstep/140, breakbeat and more. Expect wall-to-wall bangers and an abundance of good vibes when the crew take over Shambarbers next Thursday.

HAAi | Centre Stage, Day 1

Aussie selector HAAi arrives at Love Saves The Day off the back of an incredibly busy post-lockdown year, having last played the festival back in 2019.

A revered producer and DJ, as well as the boss of record label Radical New Theory, HAAi is dedicated to experimentation and exploration, combining driving techno with euphoric old-school classics, club-ready breaks and more.

Returning from an extensive US tour and kicking off a busy summer of festival shows, Love Saves The Day attendees can expect a stellar set next weekend from an in-demand DJ at the very top of her game.

Shy FX | Main Stage, Day 2

Shy FX is undoubtedly one of the UK's all-time greatest DJs, fully deserving of the multitude of plaudits he's received over the course of a vibrant thirty-year career.

A highly respected DJ, producer and label boss, Shy FX has worked alongside some of the biggest names in British underground music over the years, from T Power and Pete Tong in his early days to D Double E and Kojey Radical on more recent releases.

A bonafide musical trailblazer, the veteran DJ is certain to be bringing the heat to Loves Saves The Day's Main Stage, spinning a diverse selection of drum & bass, jungle and more.

Horse Meat Disco | Shambarbers, Day 2

Local promoters Bitch, Please! are right up there with our very favourite Bristol party starters.

At the helm of the Shambarbers stage on the second day of LSTD 2022, they've enlisted the services of a number of exciting emerging DJs, including A for Alpha and Emmy, but it's the headline slot that's caught our attention.

Horse Meat Disco have become a byword for upbeat, carefree partying across the UK and beyond since the collective was born in the early 2000s, unearthing classic house, vintage Italo, rare disco cuts and much more in their vibrant DJ sets.

It's by no means the first time Bitch, Please! and Horse Meat Disco have joined forces but Love Saves The Day's tenth birthday, in the sunshine, on the Queen's birthday weekend no less, could be one for the history books.

With just a few days to go until Love Saves The Day open the gates to their tenth edition, Thursday, Friday and full weekend tickets are all at final release.

With the festival expected to sell out in advance, we highly recommend you secure your tickets now to avoid disappointment - find out more and get yours here.
