Trinity's free-to-attend, family-friendly Garden Party will make a welcome return in early May.

Bristol's Trinity Centre have revealed a full lineup for the imminent return of their popular Garden Party, set to take over the BS2 venue on Sunday 8 May.

Coming back with another vibrant, family-friendly programme of live music, DJ sets, workshops and activities, this year's Garden Party will celebrate 190 years of the Trinity Centre.

Entry to the Garden Party is free, with a £3 suggested donation to help support the ongoing operation of the venue. More information can be found on the Trinity Centre website.

Undoubtedly one of Bristol's most iconic cultural venues, the Trinity Centre has been hosting a diverse selection of musical, artistic and community events in the heart of Old Market for decades.

As well as acting as a hub for Bristol's forward-thinking music scene, the venue has seen an array of internationally-renowned acts and speakers pass through over the years.

Having been unable to host their much-loved Garden Party for the past two years due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Trinity team are bringing the event back in typically ambitious style this spring.

Bristol-raised, now London-based DJ LCY tops a stellar musical lineup that also features fellow hometown acts Adeevah, t l k, MADLY, Yemz and Mohamed Errebbaa.

Trinity's Art of Resistance takeover will include 'Wordz of Resistance', a workshop exploring the power of spoken word and poetry as a weapon of resistance, hosted by leading South West spoken word events promoters, Raise The Bar.

Elsewhere, Craft D will also host a hip-hop workshop and introduce live performances from headline poets Deanna Rodger and Munerra Pilgrim, as well as an open mic session hosted by Saili Katebe.

Attendees will be able to contribute to a mural capturing Bristol's rich history of protest and depicting a vision of a better future as part of 'Visions of Resistance'.

The workshop will also explore key elements of mural design, including collaging and printmaking, while host and experienced mural artist Tanith Gould will lead a discussion on the role of art in activism.

A full rundown of the workshops and performances included in Trinity's 2022 Garden Party is available via the venue's website. Anyone interested in booking a stall for arts, crafts, wares or food can apply here.

There are also plenty of volunteering opportunities on offer this year, inviting locals and supporters of the venue to play a part in ensuring as many as 3,000 visitors have a good time and stay safe throughout.

Applications for volunteering roles can be made via email. Alternatively, find the Trinity team on Twitter to follow news and updates on a busy spring/summer season at the venue.
