The new multi-venue festival is welcoming a carefully curated selection of DIY, post-punk and underground artists to BS2.

Outer Town Festival is set to arrive in Bristol this weekend, taking over some of the city's most characterful venues across Old Market on Sunday 10 April.

Renowned arts spaces Exchange, Old Market Assembly, Glitch, Elmer's Arms and Ill Repute will be hosting a diverse range of alternative acts from Bristol and further afield, with 30 bands confirmed to perform across 6 stages.

Read on for a breakdown of what's coming up at each venue on the day, and get your hands on a full day ticket here.

Exchange Basement

London-based post-punk outfit DEADLETTER (pictured below), Mancunian four-piece DEAFDEAFDEAF, Brighton art-rock group Youth Sector are all playing Exchange’s new(ish) basement space as part of Outer Town 2022.

They will be joined by Peacelily and Holy Reptile, as well as a secret performer being kept under wraps for now.

Exchange Main Room

Headliner, in-demand Bristol vocalist and producer Grove (pictured below) will be joined by Brighton electro-punk trio CLT DRP and local shoegaze outfit DAMEFRISØR.

Joining this stacked selection will be hardcore band Cruelty and Bristol post-rock groups HAAL and Ex-Agent – there will also be a secret performance.

Glitch

Hairdressers-slash-music venue Glitch will also be welcoming a host of alternative bands as part of this year's edition of Outer Town.

Post-punk four-piece Hallan (pictured below) are headlining, and they will be joined by punk band Beige Banquet, experimental trio Kyoto Kyoto, Bristol mainstays Belishas, Try Me, Butch Kassidy and Dwell.

Ill Repute

Bristol’s own guitar pop/post-punk outfit Saloon Dion are headlining the Ill Repute. Joining them will be sunglasses-wearing, country-punk sextet workfriends as well as Oslo Twins, Lacuna Common, SHLUG and The Family Battenberg.

Old Market Assembly

Long-standing and well-loved arts venue Old Market Assembly will host performances from headliners and heavy Crystal Palace rockers JOHN, dirty jazz-punk band Opus Kink and Maltese psych three-piece GENN.

Outer Town Festival lists Moor Beer and Off The Record as partners. The former, a staple Bristol brewery, will bring its diverse, vegan-friendly range of beers to the party. More information can be found on the Moor Beer website.

The latter is a mental health social movement and charity providing mental health services for young people aged 11-25 in Bristol and the surrounding area. Festival attendees can donate when purchasing a ticket or on the day, visit the OTR website to find out more.

Wristband exchange will be at Moor Beer (Days Road) and there will be live music taking place between 16:00 and 23:00, with an after-party at Moor Beer set to carry attendees through to the early hours of Monday morning.
