Thekla, THE BLAST and Intrigue to join forces to raise money for Ukraine

The two Bristol party specialists will be putting on a special fundraising event at Thekla next month.

On 1 May, well-loved local Drum & Bass promotors, THE BLAST and Intrigue, are collaborating to raise money for those affected by the conflict in Ukraine.

Organisers have already announced the line-up for the epic night that’s taking place on the famous boat on May bank holiday Sunday from 22:00-04:00.

Tickets for [THE BLAST] x Intrigue // Ukraine Fundraiser are on sale now and can be found here, with all proceeds going to charities providing aid in Ukraine.

The event aims to showcase everything that makes Bristol’s DnB scene so special – love, compassion, and unity – and the stacked lineup (curated by THE BLAST and Intrigue) that will be showcased at Thekla are sure to do this.

Operating since the early 2000s, Ben Soundscape (pictured below) founded Intrigue in 2009 and it’s been building momentum ever since – expect an eclectic sound that draws influences from film scores, jazz, techno and funk alike.

London born but firmly rooted in Bristol, Charli Brix is a multi-genre vocalist and DJ who is sure to bring plenty of energy with her unique selection of underground minimal cuts and more.

Another Intrigue member, Collette Warren graduated as a jazz backing singer in London, working extensively with MC Tali. Since then, Warren has collaborated with some of the biggest DnB acts in the game.

Fred V and KEENO will be performing a back-to-back session. The former has cut his teeth on the likes of Radio 1 and the latter will be throwing his distinctive orchestral elements into the mix.

Monrroe (pictured below) will also be taking to the Thekla stage, and his heavy electronic sound and idiosyncratic production techniques are sure to attract plenty of revellers.

These acts will be joined by a host of other stellar artists in the shape of Ruth Royall, Carasel, Jakes, Lowqui and Texas as well as DJs from organisers THE BLAST and Intrigue.

The DnB fundraising extravaganza is taking place on 1 May at Thekla and tickets (all proceeds of which are going to Ukraine) are available from the event page.
