Somerset’s Farmfest releases 2022 line-up

Posted on: 17 Mar 2022

The popular two-day festival has, this week, announced a bumper selection of artists featuring the likes of genre-defying Bristol three piece Elder Island and electronic mainstay Joy Orbison among a whole host of other exciting acts for us to get our teeth into.

Running between 29 and 20 July 2022, the festival will be hosting more than 90 live artists and DJs despite only two days of performances.

The 15-year-old festival, set to the beautiful backdrop of Somerset hills, not only offers a dazzling line-up but also a unique mix of intimate secrecy and a party atmosphere. Tickets for Farmfest can be purchased from the festival website.

One of the UK’s most unique small festivals, every year Farmfest showcases the talent of both up-and-coming and established alternative artists, regularly traversing genres as diverse as electronic music, folk and jazz.

Began in 2006 by a group of friends, the festival was originally a party in a field featuring local live music and DJs. Each year since the festival has evolved, however, organisers have remained true to their original values, capping the event at 5,000 and not believing in inflated prices.

A whole hose of exciting acts is heading to the secluded spot this year. Live headliners Bristol’s Elder Island (below) and Yorkshire dub group Gentleman’s Dub Club are sure to attract large crowds.

Other notable live artists include South African "afro-psychedelic future pop” group BCUC, Bristol jazz collective Ishmael Ensemble, indie-rock band Penelope Isles and garage rock outfit Holiday Ghosts.

There is also a burgeoning DJ line-up for revellers to look forward to. UK garage/house icon Joy Orbison is headlining this side of proceedings and is supported by a whole host of exciting talent.

Experienced disc jockey Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, the BBC’s DJ Jamz Supernova and left-field house extraordinaire DJ Fett Burger will also be joining the party. As will local multi-talented vocalist and producer Grove, bringing their unique blend of dancehall, punk, and rap to Somerset for all to enjoy.

With such a spectacular line-up, Farmfest 2022 (running between 29 and 30 July) is sure to be popular. Tickets are currently £90.75 for an adult ticket with various other options as well as special offers available. Head to the festival website to find out more.
