Nadu delivery in Bristol

Offering traditional Sri Lankan cuisine with a modern twist, Nadu is available for home delivery, eat-in or collection.

Nadu has recently joined the numerous popular independent restaurants added to the BARBI App – the delivery app developed by Bristol, for Bristol.

Opened in December 2021 by local restaurateur Raja Munuswamy (owner of the award-winning Nutmeg in Clifton) and acclaimed executive chef Saravanan Nambirajan, the business’ concept is inspired by the owners’ Tamil heritage.

Indeed, this theme runs throughout the restaurant: ‘Nadu’ means ‘land’ or ‘place’ in Tamil and one of the main inspirations is the tales of Ramayan from Raja and Saravanan’s youth – spot the hand-painted murals and mythically inspired cocktail menu.

Located in the epicentre of Bristol’s cultural quarter, Stokes Croft, Nadu aims to offer a fresh perspective on Sri Lankan cuisine that is at once innovative and delicious. Now, thanks to the BARBI App, customers can get this incredible food delivered straight to their door.

Offering commission rates of just 15% per order - down from as much as 35% from leading delivery apps - BARBI are looking to safeguard the future of Bristol's hospitality industry with the BARBI App, ensuring independents keep a much larger share of their income.

The BARBI team hope that their new app will loosen the grip that major corporations like Uber and Deliveroo currently have on the industry, with a view to expand to table booking, event ticket sales, discounts, and local news features in the future.

As well as reducing fees for businesses, the app is also offering improved wages and rates for delivery riders and drivers.

Amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and in an industry made up of more than 30,000 people and over 1,800 establishments in Bristol alone, support for independent businesses and the local economy is more important than ever.
