The acclaimed master of mind control is about to embark on his first live tour in six years.

World-renowned stage performer and illusionist Derren Brown is set to touch down in Bristol this year, bringing his new performance 'Showman' to the Bristol Hippodrome.

Brown, who studied at Bristol University, will be back in the city from Tuesday 24 May to Saturday 28 May as part of a huge UK and Ireland tour beginning in March and ending in October.

Tickets for Brown’s Bristol run are on sale now and can be purchased here.

Since his television debut in 2000, Derren Brown has established himself as the master of psychological manipulation.

The 50-year-old has become notorious for his on-screen antics that include outrageous acts such as successfully hypnotising members of the public into doing weird and wonderful things and playing a live game of Russian Roulette.

In addition to his stellar television career, Brown has written a slew of best-selling books and toured a number of sell-out shows. These shows have seen the mentalist win a record breaking five Olivier Award nominations for Best Entertainment.

Speaking on the press launch of ‘Showman', Brown said:

“All I can reveal is that the show will ultimately be about you, the audience member, because that’s what I find most interesting. There are places I’d like to take the audience where we haven’t been before.

“I always aim to have it deliver more than you'd expect. I’m excited to be at the starting point of that process. Getting it on the road will be my favourite part of the year.”

As well as Bristol from 24-28 May, the illusionist will perform at venues in cities including Glasgow, Cardiff, Dublin, Belfast, Derry, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Nottingham, Wolverhampton, Southampton, Bournemouth, Leeds, Birmingham, Newcastle, Oxford and Sheffield.
