STARTING TODAY: Reignite Festival by Creative Youth Network

Beginning today (Wednesday 14 December) and continuing for the next four days, Reignite Festival will be taking over The Station in the Bristol City Centre.

 

For four days, the festival will host a plethora of activities including: an immersive exhibition, music, live performance, networking, and food.

 

Entry to each of the exhibitions is free of charge during the day but ticketed events are taking place each evening. Full festival tickets can be found on the website from £1.

 

 

Exhibitions will be taking place from 13:00, with a number of exciting activities on offer later on in the day…

 

Tonight, between 17:30 and 19:30, Creative Youth Network will be running a Careers and Opportunities Fair offering young people a chance to find out about jobs in the creative and media sector.

 

There will be the opportunity to network with representatives from several organisations, including Love Saves the Day Festival, BBC, Visual Arts Southwest, and Fourth Monkey Acting Training. This event is free, but tickets must be booked from the website.

 

Tonight from 19:30 onwards is Raise the Bar presenting a fantastic evening of exciting poetry, music and movement. Performers include Saili Katabe, Deepraj Singh, Malizah and, Callum Wensley. 

 

Raise the Bar run live literature events in Bristol and the surrounding area, aiming to create a space in which to celebrate language and poetry in all forms.

 

Tomorrow (16 December) sees Hannah Kumari’s ENG-ER-LAND performed at The Station. This energetic play explores Kumari’s love for the beautiful game and her complicated relationship with those she shares the stands with.

 

At 17:30 on Friday 17 December, Creative Youth Network and Rife at Watershed bring attendees CONNECT, a networking event for emerging and early career creatives to reignite their creative careers post-lockdown.

 

 

This will be followed by The House of Savalon Presents: The Drag Christmas Edition, a miraculous Drag Christmas Cabaret from Bristol’s Antiseptic Queer Drag Cabaret and Party.

 

The final day of the festival sees Reignite’s ‘Reignite The Rave’. Curated by Sophia Harari and Millie Wood-Downie, the multidisciplinary club night will showcase some of the best emerging female and non-binary talents in art and music. This event is 18+.

 

Throughout the day, various activities and exhibitions will be taking place at The Island as well as food and drink stalls and a shop selling artwork. The festival is open to everyone (not only 18-24) although evening events are 11+, so pop in and say hello.

 

Reignite want everyone to have access to the festival so organisers have made ‘Open Concession’ tickets available for as little as £1. Standard tickets and concessions can be purchased from the festival website.
