Fronted by Mick Hucknall, Simply Red formed in 1984 and quickly became one of the UK’s best-selling artists of that decade and the next and have now sold over 60 million albums worldwide

The band’s mix of soul, funk and pop proved to be immensely popular and have gone on to win two Brit Awards. Simply Red have had a plethora of hit singles including ‘Holding Back the Years’ and ‘If You Know Me by Now’.

Every one of the group’s twelve albums has reached the UK top 10 with 1991 effort, Stars, one of the best-selling records in UK chart history. The record was also the UK and Europe’s best-selling album for two years running.

June 2022 will see Simply Red head to the grounds of Longleat. The 450-year-old stately home is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful examples of Elizabethan architecture in the country.

With its 900 acres of landscaped gardens, the Wiltshire estate was the first to open its doors to public in 1949 and re-defined the idea of tourism when, in 1966, it launched the only drive-through safari park outside of Africa.

Longleat remains one of the UK’s most popular family attractions, welcoming around a million visitors to the site every year with a jam-packed programme of events and festivals.

Joining Simply Red next year for the Live At Longleat series are iconic singer Lionel Ritchie on 15 June and local legends Tears For Fears on 2 July. Tickets for both shows can be found on the Longleat website.

Tickets for the Simply Red show on Friday 24 June 2022 go on sale this Friday (3 December) at 10AM and can be purchased on the event webpage.
