Posted on: 24 Nov 2021

The popular open-air concert series is returning next year with another stellar live lineup.

The first wave of acts has been announced for the 2022 edition of Bristol Sounds, with the series set to make a comeback next summer after being scuppered two years in a row due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Taking place from Wednesday 22 to Sunday 26 June, Bristol Sounds 2022 will be hosting Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, as well as acclaimed genre-spanning group Jungle and folk duo First Aid Kit.

More acts are set to be announced in the coming weeks. Tickets are set to go on sale tomorrow (Friday 26 November) and can be found here.

Speaking on the first lineup announcement, Conal Dodds of organisers Crosstown Concerts said:

“We’re proud to announce the first acts from our strongest line-up yet for Bristol Sounds 2022. After a long period without live music, the 2022 event marks a new and exciting rebirth for our harbourside series.

“We're putting together a bill that represents the city's diverse musical tastes and heritage and bringing some great names to play in one of our best locations with the backdrop of Bristol's harbour.”

Having last appeared in the Westcountry to play a huge headline set at The Downs in 2018, world-renowned band Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds will top the bill on the opening night of Bristol Sounds 2022, with support provided by Australian duo Confidence Man.

Mercury-nominated Jungle are certain to bring the heat on Saturday 25 June, armed with new material from their latest album, Loving in Stereo, released earlier this year. Their show will be the first time Bristol Sounds has hosted an afternoon event, opening at 14:00.

Closing Bristol Sounds' first wave announcement are Swedish sisters First Aid Kit, set to arrive for their biggest-ever show in the South West. The pair will be joined on the day by fast-rising Bristol artist Katy J Pearson, providing support in front of a hometown crowd.

Tickets for the full series go on sale on Friday 26 November and can be found here. For more information on Bristol Sounds 2022 or to follow news and updates as more acts are announced, find the series on Facebook.
