Experimental pop artist Babii is headlining Crofters Rights next month

The electronic pop musician is playing the Bristol venue on 5 December 2021 as part of her upcoming ‘Smoke + Mirrors’ tour.

Support for the Margate based artist’s tour comes from Bristol’s underground mainstay, Grove, as the two team up for a night of forward thinking, radical music.

Tickets for the show can be purchased from the event website.

Babii (real name Daisy Emily Warne) is an experimental artist to the core as - particularly on recent album MiiRROR - she interweaves her beautiful, self-reflective vocals with scattering beats and fractured synths. In the artist’s own words, the album explores: “the duality of emotions: good and bad, light and dark”.

The record is ambitious and appears to perfectly convey Babii’s vision It is accompanied by a book she’s written, an alternative reality game she designed and an album-specific audio-visual show. MiiRROR is more than a stand-alone album, it is a mixed-media artistic piece.

In this respect, the artist’s work reflects that of musicians such as experimental pop icon, Bjork, and ground-breaking Avant-pop producer, SOPHIE. Sonically, Babii’s work echoes these artists as well as contemporaries such as Eartheater, Iglooghost and Robbie & Mona.

However, the Margate-based artist is distinctly original and urgent in the way that she approaches her craft as, through the connected book and album, she creates a world that places fantastical beasts within Warne’s own genuine memories.

Supporting Babii throughout her tour is Bristol-based vocalist, producer and DJ, Grove. The genre defying artist’s unique mix of dancehall, rap and punk will act as the perfect foil for the headliner’s brand of electronic pop.

As well as Bristol, the upcoming ‘Smoke + Mirrors’ tour will see Babii play venues in Glasgow, Edinburgh, York, Manchester, Brighton and London. To purchase tickets for any of these dates head to the artist’s bandcamp page.

Known for her theatrical live shows, Babii’s show at Crofters Rights on 5 December is sure to be a good one. Tickets can be found on the event webpage.
